Ethics
Pandora & Pendragon™ appraisers must comply with all laws and regulations of the country, state, region and municipality in which they practice.  In the event of any inconsistency between any law or regulation an appraiser shall adhere to the highest standard represented by the subject law, regulation, or pertinent organization's appraisal code of ethics. Our appraisers shall honestly and fairly represent their professional competency, qualifications, facilities, and capabilities. Our appraisers shall arrive at an independent numerical conclusion based on knowledge, thorough research and experience without regard to undue influences.
Appraisal Methodology
Our appraisers shall use current industry approved appraisal methodology and research procedures to prepare their appraisal report. Our appraisers shall not charge a fee based on a percentage of the valuation found, the financial outcome from the use of the appraisal, or whether the appraiser will purchase the item of property being appraised. Fees for appraisals will be based on the expected degree of difficulty or complexity, to be determined prior to evaluation, and agreed upon in advance by the client.
Conflict Of Interest
We will avoid and withdraw from situations that represent a conflict of interest. Every attempt will be made to make accurate appraisals of our in-house products, to provide accurate descriptions, and keep their evaluations in line with the industry. In so doing, we will indicate to you, the customer, when an appraisal for our products has been made by an in-house appraiser. You may request, at your expense, to have an appraisal performed by an in dependant professional as a substitute for any in-house appraisal.
Appraising Art
Our primary jewelry represents the work of an artist or artists and the value cannot be determined purely by the weight, quantity, or quality of the basic materials. The artist or artists themselves are primarily responsible for placing a value on their works. As such, these values represent reasonable competitive market estimates based on the value of the materials, the quality of the labor, and the complexity of the product. Some of the products are constructed from unique materials and represent a one of a kind product whose value is known only to the person who loves it. It is our responsibility to accurately describe the materials employed in the construction of these works and to not abuse the desires of the client and to place reasonable values on our products.
